Following groundbreaking DeepSeek’s R1 model, China has launched another AI (artificial intelligence) agent ‘Manus’. A few publications have called this ‘yet another DeepSeek moment’ for China.

Monica, another Chinese startup has unveiled its AI agent named ‘Manus’ which is grabbing a lot of attention for its ability to execute intricate tasks like website building as showcased in a video preview on its official site.

This AI agent went viral in less than 20 hours of its preview launch. Manus is designed to think and act on its own. This AI agent distinguishes itself by effortlessly handling real-world, complex tasks.

Manus claims to be the world’s first general AI agent capable of thinking, planning, and executing complex tasks independently.

The company also states that Manus outperforms OpenAI’s DeepResearch on the GAIA benchmark for general AI assistants. Powered by asynchronous cloud processing, Manus operates autonomously across industries. Users can simply assign a task to this AI agent and disconnect, it will continue working until the work is complete.

Additionally, it learns user preferences over time and provides personalised results with every usage. The company released the Manus demo on Wednesday night which raked up more than 2,00,000 views by Thursday midday with numerous users requesting invitation codes to access this AI agent.

Manus AI’s ability to perform in-depth web research, create files, and automate online tasks could revolutionise interaction on the internet. The overwhelming reaction positions Manus as a game changer in AI-driven automation.
