A Statista Consumer Insights survey revealed that India is the global leader in AI tools adoption, surpassing the United States and the United Kingdom. The survey revealed that 41% of Indians use AI tools daily, which is the highest percentage among the surveyed countries. Brazil followed at 33%, with Mexico (24%), Germany (21%), and the UK (21%) also reporting AI’s usage in everyday life.
Among the surveyed nations, the United States reported the lowest daily AI usage, with only 20% of respondents aged 18-64. This finding comes from a survey of 1,250 individuals within that age range per country, conducted between August and September 2024.
A report by Gartner stated that AI augmentation is expected to create $3.7 trillion in business value and free up 8.1 billion work hours worldwide by 2024.
An Elsevier Insights report indicates that 67% of Indian researchers expect to use AI tools in the coming 2 to 5 years.
According to Deloitte’s report, AI is driving core modernisation in India’s public and private sectors, particularly in government, banking, and telecom.
The report said, “AI is reshaping core modernisation across India’s public and private sectors. Core systems in government services, banking and telecom are becoming AI-first, enabling more efficient data sharing and smoother user experiences. “However, these innovations are challenging, requiring complex architectural changes to ensure scalability, security and long-term sustainability.”
According to the Deloitte report, Indian businesses are rapidly adopting small, multimodal AI models to deliver faster, more efficient, and targeted consumer solutions.
