India’s First AI-Based Data Park Launched in Nava Raipur by Chhattisgarh CM

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai initiated the development of India’s first AI (artificial intelligence) Data Centre Park in Nava Raipur. This has marked a significant milestone for the country.

Sai said, “This is not going to be just a data centre; it’s the digital backbone for a new era of growth and empowerment. It’s a transformational and a momentous move to meet India’s ambitions to become a global digital powerhouse”.

Officials have announced that the upcoming data centre, operated by RackBank Datacenters Private Limited within a 2.7-hectare Special Economic Zone (SEZ), has been designed with a strong commitment to environmental protection and will utilise green and energy-efficient technologies.

An official said, “The first phase will begin with a capacity of 5 megawatts to be expanded up to 150 megawatts. An investment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore is anticipated in the future”.

According to officials, this data centre features global-standard GPU-based high-end computing, recording, live data streaming, and AI processing infrastructure under one roof, and will also provide advanced services in health technology, defence, FinTech, and data analytics.

With an expected 500 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs, with a focus on local youth, this project is expected to position Chhattisgarh as a tech leader and generate new opportunities for its talent pool.

An official stated that “The Data Centre Park will create thousands of jobs in the IT sector, data analytics, and technical support. Youth from Chhattisgarh will now be able to build careers in technology without a need to migrate to cities like Delhi or Mumbai”.

According to officials, the data park will process national and international data to improve government services and digital self-reliance. AI technology will help farmers with smart farming, weather, and crop management for better yields and income.

Officials stated that remote tribal and rural areas will get easy digital access to education, healthcare, and government services. Recently, Chhattisgarh has provided 10 acres in Nava Raipur for a National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology centre to boost digital literacy and technical education.
